After a decade at NTV, news anchor Loise Wangui has officially exited the Nation Media Group (NMG).

On Friday, September 12, she hosted her last broadcast of NTV Mashinani, where she bid farewell to both her colleagues and loyal viewers.

Wangui, who had been anchoring Mashinani since February, expressed that she thoroughly enjoyed her seven-month stint on the program.

โ€œThe time has come for us to close, but today I am not just closing the bulletin. I am personally closing my journey at NTV Mashinani. Since February this year, it has been seven months of informing, educating, and entertaining you through NTV Mashinani,” she said.

โ€œWe had the online Mashinani, Mashinani in towns and villages, and I believe you will soon know in whose hands it will remain. Today marks my very last day presenting NTV Mashinani because God has willed that I leave in peace, not in conflict.”

โ€œMy dear viewer, you have been my pillar, my source of motivation, and my genuine supporter. Allow me to say goodbye. It has been 10 solid years of serving the nation and NMG, and I say thank you very much,โ€ Wangui added in her remarks.

Wangui did not reveal why she was leaving Nation Media Group or what her next move would be.ย Following her announcement, colleagues paid heartfelt tributes, commending her dedication and contribution during her time at the station.

NTV Jioni Swahili news anchor Lofty Matambo described the day as especially difficult, while Business Editor Julians Amboko reflected on the moments they had shared on air and wished her well in her future pursuits.

Her exit comes just days after The Trend host Amina Abdi Rabar also confirmed her departure from NTV after several years with the network.

The TV personality has been the face of The Trend, NTVโ€™s Friday night segment that features entertainment, lifestyle, and social commentary.ย She assumed the role in 2017, succeeding CNN journalist Larry Madowo.

Amina made her final appearance on the show on Friday, September 5, when she informed both the audience and her Trend Trending Talk (TTTT) panellists that her time at the Nation Media Group-owned station had come to an end.

“This is the last time I get to sign out on TTTT. My name is Amina Abdi Rabar. This was my last show,” she said as her colleagues reacted in bewilderment.

“I am not lying. Thank you so much to all for the love. Thanks to all of you for welcoming me into your homes. I appreciate it. Thank you to all the panellists and other hosts I have had here.”
