In another shocking incident, a man is reported to have fatally stabbed his wife before threatening to harm their three young children during a domestic dispute in the Obama Estate, Kayole, Nairobi.
According to a police report, the man also threatened to take his own life as his children looked on in horror at their motherโs body lying in a pool of blood.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in the Budalangi area, involved 32-year-old Eunice Wanjiku Wambui.
After allegedly killing his wife, the suspect locked himself inside the house with the children, vowing to kill them and die by suicide. Locals, with the help of police, broke through the roof and door to rescue the children. The suspect was also subdued and arrested, Nairobi Regional Police Commander George Seda confirmed.
The womanโs body was recovered from the sitting room, where she had died from the stab wounds. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Police say the suspect is expected to face murder charges. The body has been taken to the mortuary pending postmortem and further investigations.
