Sebastien Ogier led the Rally of Chile on Saturday to keep the wheels on his quest for a ninth world title.

The Frenchman goes into the last day 6.3 seconds clear of Elfyn Evans, who leads his Toyota teammate by nine points in the world championship.

Rain made conditions ultra slippery which initially played into Evans’ hands and the Welshman took the lead after the morning stages until Ogier fought back in the afternoon.

“It’s going to be intense (on Sunday) and in contrast to the first two days I’m going to have to attack from the start,” said Ogier.

He said he would ensure a fast start by having a “double” espresso coffee for breakfast.
