Crystal Palace is currently soaring under manager Oliver Glasner, who has completely turned the club around from a relegation battle to a European contender.

The Eagles made club history by extending their incredible unbeaten run to 19 games with a solid 2-0 win against Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Conference League.

Goals from Daniel Munoz and super-sub Eddie Nketiah, both set up by new signing Yeremy Pino, sealed their first-ever away victory in a major European group stage.

This historic run highlights the team’s new defensive strength and attacking flair, placing them third in the Premier League and making them serious contenders for the European trophy.

The foundation of this historic surge lies in the impact of manager Oliver Glasner.

The Austrian coach arrived in early 2024 with the team flirting with relegation, but he has since orchestrated a sensational turnaround.

His high-pressing, structured style has not only delivered the club’s first major trophy—the FA Cup in May 2025—but has also turned a team previously known for gritty survival into genuine top-flight contenders.

Palace’s previous longest unbeaten run stood at 18 games, a record set way back in 1969 under Bert Head as the club earned promotion to the top flight.

Surpassing that mark underlines the current squad’s consistency and ambition.

Glasner’s side, which also began the Premier League season as the last remaining unbeaten team, currently sits third in the table, having conceded just three goals in six league matches.

Their strong form includes draws against London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as a win that ended Liverpool’s perfect start.

The match itself held significant geopolitical meaning, played on neutral ground in Poland due to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Dynamo Kyiv players wore their national flag before the game, but Palace showed unwavering focus throughout.

The visitors controlled the play, generating 1.96 expected goals to Dynamo’s 0.53, showcasing an impressive balance of defensive steel and attacking precision.

The historic goals came from two key players.

Daniel Munoz netted Palace’s maiden goal in a major European group stage in the 31st minute, heading home a precise cross from summer signing Yeremy Pino.

The Colombian full-back, renowned for his set-piece threat, celebrated the club milestone.

Eddie Nketiah doubled the lead eight minutes into the second half.

The former Arsenal striker, a valuable addition, connected with a brilliant “trivela” pass from Pino for a sharp near-post finish.

Nketiah, thriving in a super-sub role, has now scored in consecutive matches off the bench.

Despite a minor setback—Borna Sosa received a late red card in the 76th minute—the Eagles held firm, allowing the host team just one late shot on target, a testament to their improved defensive resilience under Glasner.

With the unbeaten streak longer than any current run in Europe’s top leagues, Palace is now considered a joint favorite to lift the Conference League trophy.

However, Manager Glasner continues to manage expectations.

“I don’t think about this run, because it has already happened… For me, it is important what comes next,” he said after the victory, keeping the focus firmly on the next challenge.

Palace’s next task is a Premier League clash away at Everton on Sunday, where they aim to add to their 12 points and maintain their strong league position.

In Europe, the team will host AEK Larnaca on October 23.

This cohesion, bolstered by smart signings like Pino and Nketiah, has truly transformed the club.

As one fan posted online, expressing the widespread enthusiasm, the team is “soaring,” leaving supporters eager to see just how high this impressive run can take them.
