Black American content creator Rello Scott Ensley has come under heavy fire after a viral YouTube video showed him making disparaging remarks about Kenya and Kenyan women.
In the clip, Ensley referred to Kenya as a โpoverty-stricken countryโ and went further to mock the appearance of Kenyan women, comments that immediately sparked anger across social media platforms.
Kenyans online condemned his statements as disrespectful and ignorant, with many accusing him of reinforcing harmful stereotypes about Africa. Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram were flooded with responses, as users defended the countryโs progress, culture, and beauty.

Some Kenyans also criticized him for seeking clout through provocative and offensive commentary, warning that such remarks only deepen cultural divisions.
The incident has renewed debate about the portrayal of African nations by foreign influencers and the responsibility that comes with having a global platform.
As of now, Ensley has not publicly addressed the backlash or issued an apology, but calls for him to take responsibility and retract his statements continue to grow louder.
