Officers from the National Police Service in Ahero intercepted a motorcycle suspected of transporting narcotic drugs during routine patrols in the town.
According to police reports, the rider ignored officersโ commands and sped off towards the Kamindubi area. After a brief chase, he abandoned the motorcycle along with its luggage and fled on foot.
Police recovered four green sacks containing a substance believed to be cannabis sativa. Both the motorcycle and the seized items have been secured at Ahero Police Station.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect, who will face arraignment once caught.
The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to combating narcotic drugs and urged the public to support law enforcement efforts by reporting any relevant information.
