The National Police Service Commission has adjusted its recruitment timetables for 10,000 police constables to address errors in its initial advertisement as well as add more centers to the list.

In a statement issued on September 30, the Commission said some of the venues were inadvertently excluded from the initial announcement published in newspapers on September 19 and 20. The updated list, it said, should guide applicants as they prepare to take part in the countrywide exercise from October 3 to October 9.

โ€œThe National Police Service Commission wishes to inform the public of the following clarifications, additions, and corrections to the designated recruitment centres,โ€ the notice stated.

Among the new venues are Nuu TVET Grounds in Kitui County, Sabuli in Wajir, Zombe Stadium in Kitui, and Kokane in Tana River, where recruitment will take place on October 7. On October 8, the exercise will also be held at Kibuโ€™nga in Tharaka Nithi, Thuura Secondary School in Meru, and Mathuki DCC Grounds in Kitui.

Other corrections include moving Kilifi Northโ€™s recruitment to Karisa Maitha Stadium, Embakasi Centralโ€™s to Humama Grounds, and Embakasi Northโ€™s to Dandora Stadium. In Bungoma County, the October 6 recruitment will now take place at Sirisia Sports Grounds, while Suba West in Homa Bay will use Sena Air Strip.

In Kiambu, Kabete Sub-Countyโ€™s venue has been shifted to Kirangari Vocational Training Centre. Several other counties, including Kilifi, Kwale, Kitui, and Tharaka Nithi have also seen adjustments to their designated centres.

The NPSC encouraged National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the minimum requirements to apply but stressed they would only be recruited within their respective counties. The candidates must be Kenyan citizens between the ages of 18 and 28 years, possess a valid national ID, and a minimum mean grade of D+ in KCSE with an equivalent mark in English or Kiswahili.

Candidates must also be physically and medically fit, free of any criminal record, and for female applicants, not pregnant at the time of recruitment and throughout training.

Application forms can be accessed on the NPSC website (www.npsc.go.ke), affiliated government websites, or at Huduma Centres across the country. The applicants will have to present themselves at their respective recruitment centres with original and photocopies of academic documents, testimonials, national ID, birth certificate, and NYS discharge certificate when needed.

The Commission noted that all other information in the original advert is still intact and requested applicants to adhere diligently to the updated guidelines when reporting for recruitment.
