The Mulembe nation has been asked to support President William Ruto’s second term in preparation for his support to clinch the Presidency in 2032.
Presidential aide Farouk Kibet said this during the Malava PLWD’s funds drive, where he hailed the close relationship between the Luhyas and Kalenjins for many years.
Kibet said it was time for the Mulembe people to take over from President William; hence, the region should walk with him as he seeks his second and last term come 2027, after which he will marshal the Kalenjins to rally behind the Mulembe candidate.
“We have been close political allies, and since the Mulembe nation has contributed heavily to this country’s leadership, it is time for us to return the favour by supporting them in 2032 to clinch the top leadership,” he assured.
He said the Luhya nation has stood firm in government and should not be lured into opposition.
He blasted the DCP brigade for staging opposition meetings in Malava, selling to the electorate hot air instead of tangible development agendas.
“Let me remind you that we are all Kenyans with over 43 tribes, and there is no way one person wants to brand this country as a one-tribal outfit just to quench his dark and vicious ambitions against the President,” he wondered.
He asked the people of Malava to reject the DCP propaganda and instead focus on the bigger prize, noting that the DCP aim was to coerce the constituency and region as a whole to lose grip on both the national cake and top leadership when the right time comes.
He asked Western leaders to start making alliances with other tribes as they prepare for 2032, as they have noticeable leaders at the helm who are fit to steer the country forward.
Farouk Kibet, on his part, affirmed that Western Kenya and Moses Wetang’ula occupy a special place in his heart and in the heart of the United Democratic Alliance.
He particularly lauded the Kabras community for leading Kakamega in delivering votes to President Ruto in the 2022 election.
Speaker Wetang’ula was categorical that Ford Kenya, together with the broad-based Kenya Kwanza arrangement, stands firmly behind the UDA candidate in Malava, leaving no doubt that the coalition will rally its machinery in support of the nominee.
On national politics, he observed that the pact between Kenya Kwanza and ODM to form the broad-based government was there to stay, and after the exit of the President, the Mulembe nation would be reaching out to other tribes, among them the Luos, to back them as a payback gesture.
“Mulembe nation has for many years stood with Jaramogi Odinga, then Raila Odinga, for decades as they sought this country’s leadership, and we will be reaching out to their political support too.”
He also hailed the long friendship between the Luhyas and Bukusus and insisted on the unity of the region.
“Let us remain united as the Western region and be one bloc to enable us to move as one body as we seek outside support for our quest to clinch the country’s leadership. We need to have massive support from 24 counties and be able to record 50% plus one to secure the Presidency,” he requested.
He assured President William Ruto of his two-term leadership and said the Mulembe nation was tightly locked in government.
He criticized the ongoing tribal politics being peddled by some disgruntled, angry politicians, stating that it was unhealthy for the nation and should be shunned by all means.
“We cannot be electing and de-electing leaders now and then just because somebody somewhere is not comfortable and is not in government. I ask Kenyans to remain focused and give their leaders time to deliver instead of waging a never-ending war against them for no reason. This country belongs to all of us and not you alone,” he cautioned.
He lauded the President’s efforts in uplifting the region through several development and empowerment programmes after many years of neglect by the national government.
Wetang’ula further revealed that the government has already signed and awarded the contract for the tarmacking of the Malava-Samitsi road.
He added that President Ruto will soon come to launch the project as well as the Malava KMTC College.
He also said the Kaburengu road will be expanded into a dual carriageway to minimize accidents.
He also pointed out that both Kakamega and Bungoma Level 6 hospitals were on course and that it would be a huge reprieve for patients seeking treatment.
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) fundraising drive for persons living with disabilities in Malava came to a successful close under the leadership of Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula and President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet. The event was not only a gesture of compassion but also a display of political maturity.
In a rare show of unity, Malava parliamentary aspirants seeking the United Democratic Alliance ticket—Leonard Shimaka, Simon Kangwana Chimuche, David Ndakwa, and Rhyan Injendi Malaulu—graced the occasion.
They pledged to support whoever among them emerges victorious in the forthcoming UDA nomination, signaling a new spirit of cooperation that could redefine the contest in Malava.
