A Jubilee MP has faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta over the looming reshuffle of the Cabinet.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri says it is wrong for the President to work with opposition leader Raila Odinga in constituting a new Cabinet team without consulting members of Jubilee party.
Ngunjiri said Raila was an outsider who lost the presidential election and is now playing a key role in making major decisions in government.
“He [Uhuru] is now sliding into dictatorship because he has not consulted anyone on the formation of a government of national unity. If that’s the spirit, he should scrap the constitution and do whatever he wants.”
“They ย engaged us on a useless exercise. What was the need for elections, they would have formed that government of national unity and save the country money. What they are doing is selfish,” Ngunjiri stated while appearing in a local radio station.
Media reports said at least four Cabinet Secretaries will be shown the door during the Cabinet changes.
In May, Ngunjiri said the March 9th handshake between President Uhuru and Odinga was undermining Deputy President William Ruto. ย
