Machakos – Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has hinted at the party fronting a presidential candidate in 2027.

On Monday, September 22, Raila chaired the ODM parliamentary group meeting at Maanzoni Lodge in Machakos county.
In his speech, Raila rebuked leaders who have openly been endorsing President William Ruto’s 2027 presidential bid.
The former prime minister reminded his allies that he only agreed to work with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government until 2027.

Raila cautioned ODM leaders against committing the party to deals that have not been agreed upon by party organs.

The former prime minister stated that the Orengo Party has not ruled out presenting a candidate for the presidency in 2027.
He said the party will follow the law in deciding whether to compete against Ruto in the coming election.
