Railways Golf Club is set to host over 200 players for the 18th leg of the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

The evergreen Par 72 Railways Golf Club is set to host over 200 golfers this Saturday for the 18th leg of the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

Fresh from last weekend’s spectacular showdown in Sigona, the regional tournament will tee off at 6:30 am for the morning action, followed by an afternoon session starting at noon.

Speaking ahead of the competition, Railways Golf Club Captain John Kamenyi said: “We expect a huge turnout on Saturday.

Adrian Ongwae, a former hockey player, discovered golf in his late 30s and has since transformed it into a passionate pursuit, achieving notable success by age 45.

“This series has become instrumental in allowing thousands of golf enthusiasts to hone their skills and enjoy themselves on the green. We have worked hard to maintain the course; therefore, golfers can expect a good show.”

So far, the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour has reached over 2,000 players across the region and engaged more than 1,000 juniors through concurrent golf clinics.

In Kenya alone, the tournament has been staged in 10 counties, including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Laikipia, Nandi, Mombasa, Kisii, Kiambu, Machakos, and Kericho.

Beyond the border, Uganda and Burundi have already hosted their legs, with Tanzania and Rwanda set to join before the grand finale.

Dismas Mokua and his team lit up the Kisii leg of the KCB Golf Tour with a commanding 99-point performance to book their place in the grand finale.

“In the last two decades, we have spent over KShs. 800 million in different golf competitions that drive socio-economic transformation, foster inclusivity, and promote regional unity, reinforcing our belief in the power of sports to bring people together and create a lasting impact,” KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru, noted.

“Once again, we are at the Railways Golf Club to enable golfers to enjoy the sport and strengthen their skills.”

The club that wins the grand finale on December 5 will earn a Ksh 1 million cash reward for a sustainability initiative, and the four-ball team will be sponsored to play in a prestigious golf tournament.
