Kiambu County, August 16, 2025 — The quiet town of Ruaka has been shaken after the body of a 36-year-old man who had gone missing for four days was discovered near Gachie River under mysterious circumstances.

Police confirmed that the deceased, identified as Peter Karomo Kabui, went missing on August 12, 2025. His lifeless body was later found on August 16 with a shoelace tied tightly around his neck, pointing to a suspected case of murder.

Authorities stated that the motive behind the killing has not yet been established. The incident has left residents in fear as investigations into the tragedy continue.

The body of Kabui was moved to a local mortuary where an autopsy will be conducted to help establish the exact cause of death. Police have urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigations.

This latest case adds to the growing list of mysterious deaths in Kiambu County, raising concerns about security and crime in the region.
