The political temperature in Malava constituency has escalated to high voltage as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) turns its political guns on Opposition’s DCP party vowing to dim their political life in the coming by-election.
The weekend’s Malava empowerment function which brought together UDA hopefuls led by West Kabras MCA David Ndakwa, Simon Kangwana, Enock Andanje, Leonard Shimaka and Rhyan Injendi, saw UDA tear into Rigathi Gachagua-led DCP party, for what they alleged was a well-orchestrated political propaganda leveled against President William Ruto’s administration.
UDA Party’s National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi led key figures in conducting the Malava Constituency empowerment programme where he assured the residents that the seat will be retained by UDA.
The event, which was also attended by President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet who was accompanied by MPs Johanna Ng’eno (Emurua Dikkir), Navakholo’s Emmanuel Wangwe, Innocent Mugabe (Likuyani) among other notable leaders dismissed the DCP saying the government was prepared to secure the seat.
Nyakundi dismissed DCP as having no direction and an agenda for Kenyans and was only interested in settling personal scores with President Ruto.
“Let them come out clearly and tell Kenyans what they will do for them and stop de-campaigning our President who has transformed the country to greater heights since he assumed office,” he challenged.
He assured Kenyans that President Ruto will serve his two terms as Kenyans have faith in his development agenda.
Mugabe laughed off the efforts by opposition especially DAP Kenya led by Eugene Wamalwa as struggling party that cannot accommodate the interests of Malava people.
Ng’eno said Malava should remain in government and told off the opposition of taking advantage of the vacant seat hoping they will distabilise the government by winning the seat.
“DCP is a tribal party and has planted seeds of hatred and should not be entertained by the Malava people at all costs,” he said.
Bomet senator Hillary Sigei said Gachagua had failed as a deputy president and hence could not be trusted to hold any political office.
Senate Majority Leader Harun Cheruiyot said the government commitment to offer financial empowerment to women and youth groups in the constituency in line with UDA party’s rallying mission of uplifting those at the bottom of the economic pyramid through the bottom-up economic transformation agenda (BETA) was unstoppable.
“Malava constituency is one of those due for a by-election after the death of their MP, Malulu Injendi, a UDA Party staunch member and as government we will ensure that we secure our rightful position and those salivating for this seat are in for a rude shock,” he said.
Farouk Kibet called on the country to remain resolute and rally strongly behind Ruto as he was ready to bring the needed change in the country.
“This is your government and you should not be used to wreck it for the benefit of few individuals, UDA is ready to serve all Kenyans and will ensure that development reaches in each corner,” he concluded.
