Samsung Wins 47 Honors, Including Two Gold Awards at International Design Excellence Awards 2025

Samsung Electronics has once again demonstrated its leadership in design innovation, securing a total of 47 honors at the prestigious International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2025. The company won two Gold, three Silver, and three Bronze awards, alongside 39 finalist recognitions across multiple categories.

This yearโ€™s IDEA recognized winners across 20 categories, including home, consumer technology, and digital interaction. The judging criteria focused on design innovation, benefits to users, and contributions to society. Samsungโ€™s design philosophyโ€”centered on creating products that adapt to people, lifestyles, and experiences, was a key factor in its strong showing.

โ€œInnovation born from advanced technology and human empathy enriches our peopleโ€™s lives,โ€ said Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of Samsung Electronicsโ€™ Device eXperience (DX) Division. โ€œWe are dedicated not only to pushing the boundaries of technology but also to cultivating meaningful connections that bring us closer to a brighter, more connected future together.โ€

Among the highlights, Samsung received two Gold Awards. One was for the Samsung Mobile Design Visual Identity System, which unifies the Galaxy Series under a consistent visual framework that extends across packaging, books, films, and retail experiences to effectively communicate the brandโ€™s โ€œessentialโ€ message. The second Gold Award went to Samsung Inclusive Essentials, a visionary set of concepts for home appliances aimed at enhancing accessibility for visually impaired and elderly users. By standardizing shapes and colors and integrating tactile, auditory, and visual cues, the design enables low-vision users to interact more easily with products.

The company also secured three Silver Awards. These included recognition for the Galaxy Tab S10 Series, Samsungโ€™s first AI-enhanced tablet with a 3D home map view for streamlined device management across the SmartThings ecosystem. Another Silver Award honored the Samsung Smart Modular House, a futuristic living space designed to flexibly adapt to evolving lifestyles through AI and advanced IT integration. The third Silver went to Digital Twin, an AI-powered b.IoT solution for smart building management that uses 3D-based technology to enable intuitive operations and energy optimization.

Three products were further recognized with Bronze Awards. The Galaxy S24 FE, enhanced with Galaxy AI-powered photography and advanced camera capabilities, delivers a premium experience with a refined design that makes high-quality features more accessible. The Samsung Vision AI Onscreen Story, a visual presentation of the companyโ€™s TV branding under the theme โ€œEndless Wonder,โ€ was also honored. Completing the Bronze category was the EHS Mono Outdoor Indoor System, a home heat pump equipped with SmartThings and AI Home Touchscreen for more convenient energy management.

In addition to these awards, Samsung earned numerous finalist honors. These included the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, which combine innovative foldable designs with Galaxy AI for seamless user experiences. The Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF Model) was recognized for delivering 4K OLED quality enhanced by AI upscaling and sound optimization. The Bespoke AI Laundry Hub, a stacked washer and dryer featuring an AI Home Touchscreen, was also highlighted, though it is currently only available in Korea. Samsungโ€™s Newfound Equilibrium Exhibition was recognized as well, showcasing the companyโ€™s user-centered design philosophy and vision for balance between people and technology.

Samsungโ€™s outstanding performance at IDEA 2025 underscores its commitment to human-centered design, accessibility, and innovation. By blending advanced technology with empathy-driven design principles, the company continues to shape the future of how people live, work, and connect.
