Chesang, who chairs the Senate ICT Committee, said involving content creators would both empower young people and expand Kenyaโ€™s global digital footprint.

โ€œLet us use content creators to talk about government projects, policies, and Konza to Kenyans, especially the youth. By giving them these tasks, we will not only be empowering them but also spreading to the world what the government is doing,โ€ Chesang emphasized on Thursday during a tour of the Technopolis.

The senator noted that once complete, the Konza Technopolis will anchor Kenyaโ€™s digital economy, generate jobs, and place the country firmly on the global technology map.

โ€œAs Chair of the Senate ICT Committee, I reaffirm our commitment to supporting policies and legislation that will accelerate Konzaโ€™s growth into a world-class Smart City and a global hub for innovation under Vision 2030,โ€ Chesang said.

Chesang hailed Konza as a model public-private partnership with its integration of green power, affordable housing, special economic zone incentives, one-stop investor services, and university- and research-based innovation ecosystem.

โ€œTogether, we are working to position Konza as Africaโ€™s leading Smart City, creating opportunities in ICT, investment, tourism, and industrialization,โ€ Chesang added.

The senator toured the project alongside Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary (CS) William Kabogo, Tourism CS Rebecca Miano, and Trade CS Lee Kinyanjui.
