Sha’Carri Richardson’s dramatic arrest saw her hurl vile insults towards Christian Coleman.
World 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson has left fans disappointed after trying to pin the blame on Christian Coleman when she was arrested for assaulting her.
American sprint queen Sha’Carri Richardson has made headlines for her arrest over domestic violence last month.
Richardson was arrested at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and booked into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) in Des Moines, Washington, for more than 18 hours following her assault on boyfriend Christian Coleman.
The two were headed to the US Championships, which served as the trials for the 2025 World Championships, where Richardson ran the heats in the 100m, finishing second, but missed out on a 200m ticket after finishing fourth in her heat.

Meanwhile, Coleman missed out on both the 100m and 200m tickets to the World Championships but the aftermath of their participation was marred by her arrest.
Sha’Carri Richardson alleged that Christian Coleman was abusive during their relationship before later publicly apologising and expressing her love for him.

Now two weeks later, a video from a bodycam has been leaked online showing the moment Richardson was arrested after shoving Coleman a number of times and throwing headphones at him but what she said during that dramatic incident has left a lot to be desired.
Having claimed that she also has evidence to show that Coleman has been assaulting her, Richardson hurled several vile insults towards her boyfriend, calling him ‘weak’ but it is one comment that has left fans fuming.
“So this is the position that Christian Coleman puts me into. Because he’s a coward and I don’t want anything to do with him (from) this point going forward… I haven’t put my hands on him, we had an argument,” Richardson said during her arrest.
“I am telling you we were arguing and the fact that you are doing this to me and he is the man in this situation…I am gonna comply, I will not argue with you at all,” she tells the officers, before going to defend herself further.
Sha’Carri Richardson has publicly apologised to Christian Coleman after their airport altercation, expressing deep remorse and affirming she still loves him.
“I’m not going to resist but I’m telling you that we were arguing. I didn’t assault him; I didn’t do anything wrong… Christian I’m going to go to jail because of you right now. So I’m going to jail? Who’s going to bail me out?” she further pleaded with the officer.
Richardson’s argument that Coleman is “the man in this situation” has divided opinion among fans as some feel she was not taking responsibility for her actions and instead tried to manipulate the situation by pinning the blame on her boyfriend.
To her credit, the world 100m champion has since apologised to Coleman, saying she is going to seek help, as the altercation was as a result of her past “trauma and pain.”
Despite being the alleged victim in an airport confrontation, Christian Coleman has backed Sha’Carri Richardson’s bid to make a comeback.
