A dramatic arrest mission in Masaka village, Mbooni, turned violent when a suspect bit and seriously injured a police officer during a confrontation.

According to police reports, officers had gone to the homestead on Monday to apprehend a suspect wanted for housebreaking. However, the situation escalated after family members allegedly tried to obstruct the arrest.

During the scuffle, Constable Dominic Langat was bitten on the palm of his right hand, sustaining serious injuries. His colleagues managed to subdue the suspect and successfully arrested him.

The injured officer was first treated at Kathulumbi Health Center before being referred to Wote County Teaching and Referral Hospital for specialized care. Police confirmed he is in stable condition.

Authorities have condemned the attack, vowing to take firm action against individuals who obstruct or assault law enforcement officers during operations.
