US sprinter Twanisha ‘Tee Tee’ Terry is among those who have paid tributes to retiring Jamaican great Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce for inspiring her during her illustrious career.

Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce brought the curtains down to her remarkable track career at the 2025 World Championships and she has been receiving glowing tributes from her colleagues.

The 38-year-old signed off in the most remarkable ways as she won a silver medal in the 4x100m relay with Team Jamaica after a sixth-place finish in the 100m final and she has made it clear that she will not be running again.

Fraser-Pryce has inspired a large number of female athletes during the course of her career as well as young women due to her remarkable consistency, mentality and attitude that has seen her win five world titles and two Olympics gold medals over the 100m.

Among those greatly inspired by the Jamaican great is American sprinter Twanisha ‘Tee Tee’ Terry who has termed Fraser-Pryce a great role model that she has followed ever since she was a child.

“Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce — what an incredible woman you are. Thank you for inspiring me, and countless others, for so many years,” the 26-year-old wrote on social media.

“I went from being the little girl watching your races on YouTube to standing on the line right next to you — a dream turned reality. Your presence has graced the track community with excellence, grace, and longevity, leaving a mark that can never be erased.”

Terry is not just grateful to have got the privilege of running alongside Fraser-Pryce but also for receiving unsolicited advice from the veteran sprinter.

“A special thank you for taking the time to pull me aside after the award ceremony. It might have seemed like a small gesture, but to me, it meant the world. Your words will stay with me, and I will carry them forward on my own journey,” she added.

Terry is just the latest in a long list of track and field stars who have paid tributes to Fraser-Pryce, who has opted to retire after the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

The mother of one brought career to a stop at the place where it all started as it is in Japan when she featured at her first-ever World Championships, the 2007 edition in Osaka, where she won silver in the 4x100m relay before going on to win 17 World Championships medals, among them 10 gold as well as seven Olympics medals, three of them gold.
