The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate for Malava MP in the up-coming by-election Edgar Busiega has dismissed claims he is out of the race in favour of another opposition candidate.

In a candid interview on Radio Mambo, Busiega assured his supporters that no talks have been held on fronting a single opposition candidate in the mini-poll slated for November 27.

He called out DAP-K party of Eugene Wamalwa and his Malava candidate Seth Panyako of engaging in propaganda by claiming DCP should abandon its bid.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) is led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who is deputised by former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malalah.

According to Busiega, Eugene and Panyako are only interested in confusing the Malava electorate as they have no ideology and vision for the area.

โ€œThatโ€™s just wishful thinking. Itโ€™s just propaganda. DAP-K is a useless party,โ€ he said. โ€œI was in that party and I left because they have no plan,โ€ he added.

The youthful lawyer is a frontrunner in the hotly contested by-election and has been subject to political propaganda ever since he ditched DAP-K where he was frustrated and joined the fast rising DCP party.

Together with DCP deputy party leader Cleophas Malalah, they have popularized the young party in the region, attracting astronomical support to the dislike of some of the older parties in the opposition like DAP-K.

At the moment, DAP-K top leadership is at war with Eugene Wamalwa (Party Leader) pulling in different sides with his own deputy, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya over the shambolic running of the partyโ€™s activities.
