The Teachersโ€™ Service Commission (TSC) has unveiled a major recruitment drive, opening up 45,000 positions for teachers and interns across the country.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, August 12, the Commission announced 21,000 vacancies for senior teachers, head teachers, deputy head teachers, chief principals, deputy principals, and senior curriculum support officers.

Interested candidates have untilย Monday, August 25, 2025, to submit applications through the official TSC online portal.

โ€œSuccessful candidates will be deployed to schools with available vacancies. Manual applications will not be accepted,โ€ TSC stated, adding that the recruitment process will be transparent and inclusive, with consideration given to persons with disabilities.

Alongside the permanent positions, TSC is also seekingย 24,000 teacher internsย for Junior Schools to support the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

To qualify, applicants must be Kenyan citizens, registered with TSC, and hold at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) , including a C+ in two teaching subjects.

The internships will run for 12 months, with interns attached to junior schools earning a monthly stipend ofย Ksh 20,000.

TSC emphasized that selection will be strictly merit-based and determined by the number of available vacancies in each county.
