Tusker coach Charles Okere is ruing his clubโs inability to keep hold of experienced defender Michael Kibwage who has joined Gor Mahia.
Tusker coach Charles Okere is still coming to terms with the departure of key players from his squad and he is particularly hurt by the exits of Eric Balecho and Michael Kibwage.
Okere, who is hoping to build on the third place of last season to mount a title challenge next term, will have to do it without two of his most important players after Balecho moved to Bandari while Kibwage has agreed a deal with Gor Mahia.
Both players were free agents after their contracts with the Brewers had expired and turned down fresh deals from Tusker in favour of better paying offers elsewhere.

Okere admits it is disappointing but Tusker did not lose them for a lack of trying but just because they received better deals at their new clubs.
Gor Mahia have added three key defensive players from the CHAN 2024 squad to boost their backline.
โFor sure it is really tough on us. As a club, we had tried all we could to have them remain with us because they are key elements in our team and their experience is crucial,โ Okere told Telecomasia.net.
Nevertheless, Okere is putting on a brave face as he scans the transfer market for quality replacements for a title challenge in the 2025-26 season.
โHowever, we have to quickly adjust and find solutions. We are exploring the transfer market to find suitable replacements and we know we will be able to seal their spots,โ added the Tusker coach.
Harambee Stars defender Michael Kibwage has explained how Kenya can survive a tough CHAN 2024 group of death.
โOur focus remains to be ready for the new season and I am really pleased with the signings we made. They have integrated really well so far.โ
Having released nine players following the expiry of their contracts, Tusker have so far signed forward Dennis Oalo, centre-back Francis Oduor, midfielder Yakeen Muteheli as well as right-back Eugene Ikutwa and more are expected to arrive.
The Brewers will begin their 2025-26 FKF Premier League season with a clash against KCB on September 20.
The defender has battled injuries in recent months but feels a national team call-up for CHAN 2024 is a reward for his hard work last season.
