The race for Malava MPโs seat following the death of then legislator Malulu Injendi is taking shape even as the ruling party United Democratic Alliance party prepares to unveil its candidate.
President William Rutoโs aide who has been at the heart of the areaโs politics, is expected in the constituency later this week to grace an empowerment drive to help self groups of Persons With Disability (PWds) in what will be the last public function before the party holds its nominations top pick its candidate.
UDA party is the most popular in the area, and a larger section of the electorate say they still have confidence in President William Rutoโs government.
The confusion that has rocked the opposition outfit in the area is likely to hand the ruling party an early win as it is not clear whether they will field a single candidate.
While DCP is fronting lawyer Edgar Busiega, DAP-K has Seth Panyako as their candidate.
UDA, on the other hand, has four individuals who are to battle out on nominations, namely Simon Kangwana, Leonard Shimaka, David Ndakwa, and Rhyan Injendi.
So far, the race is taking shape as Panyako and Wilberforce Tuvei are being seen as clear front runners.
Tuvei is yet to declare his party of choice, but he has endeared himself well with the electorate.
