First-year university students from Webuye East can look forward to a Ksh. 10,000 bursary to assist with admission and initial settlement costs. The initiative was announced by area MP Martin Pepela Wanyonyi, who confirmed the funds will be disbursed through the September 2025 Special Bursary.

Speaking to residents during burial services for the late Nancy Nalianya and the late George Siundu Kaangale, MP Wanyonyi acknowledged the financial struggles many families face. He emphasized that this bursary is a direct response to these challenges, ensuring that no student from the constituency misses out on their university education due to a lack of funds.

The bursary is expected to provide crucial support, alleviating some of the financial burden on families and empowering students to pursue their academic dreams without added stress. This initiative highlights the MP’s commitment to investing in the future of the youth in Webuye East.
